Simiane la Rotonde is a typical provençal village which was built on the top of a hill during the 12th century. The village is dominated by the rotonde which was a dungeon of a castle built by the Agoult-Simiane family during the 12th century. This tower gave its name to the village and is the particularity of Simiane. This tower is 18 meters high and dominates the lavender fields all around the valleys. Many concerts of classical music take place in this tower during the summer season.

Many typical private houses from 16th and 17th century are still visible in the old village. One of the village particularity is the work of the doors which allowed the owners to show their wealth. This is a pleasure to walk up and down the small stone paths of the village. Visit the covered market with its stunning view and the small church (Sainte Victoire) which was built during the 16th century.

Walk around in the village is a pure pleasure for the eyes.
